Thanks, I had previously found a 1900 census for the stango's. They did live on Washington ave in Corona so I do believe you correct on the rest. Thanks again

Teresa’s manifest?
Note: a Tamburrino on line 113
(Several Bisaccia’s & Tamburrino’s on the page)

1888
7 May 1888, Ship Olympia, Naples to NY
Lines 114-5
Margherita Bisaccia 28 (abt 1859-1860)
Teresa Stasi 4 (abt 1883-1884)

Towns are crossed off, but it appears to be:
Vaglio Basilicata (Potenza, Basilicata)
---

Note: as mj pointed out earlier, Bisaccia, Stasi (di Stasi, di Stasio)
& Tamburrino are current surnames in Potenza

Hoping someone out there knows a little more from the other side of the Ocean.
Teresa Stango from San Mauro Forte married Canio Tamburrino.
His origin is still in question as his naturalization records state his town of birth to be
Vaglia which is hard to believe.
I believe he is from Vaglio Basilicata.
I have no clue who his parents were.

Records for Vaglio Basilicata have been microfilmed
and are available for your to order and view at your
local Family History Center

That is definitely the manifest for teresa, I had to take a double take because it said she was for because she got married not long after. I have to keep on reminding myself that she was really young when she got married.

I was on the mormon site before but I didn't think there would be a family center near me. I was wrong, there is one 20 minutes away. I always thought of mormons as a west coast religion, even though they originated in upstate New York.

The more information I find, the more I start to think that this was an arranged marriage.
