I'm great,great grandson of Domenico Zambrotta. We had a bldg. On metropolitan Ave in Brooklyn NY.
I was told he came from Italial late 1800s or early 1900s. We also had an estate next to the Rockefeller Estate. I saw pictures of my great aunts and the family riding horses all gathered on that estate.. great grand pops was 758 metropolitan Ave was in his name.
I belive he had 6 daughters and 3 sons. 1 of the was my great Uncle Tommy.He had polio at young age. Great Uncle Sammy was a belly gunner ,in WWII.
They great men. And loved kids. All zambrotta men ,was short with big strong forearms. Wrinkles on forehead(even as child) .no earlobes. The man passes those genes. I have the family crest from Italy. Sign by governor around 1812. Our crest is a red / white checkered shield with a red lion on his hind legs . Standing.
2 males left in our family direct bloodline from Domenico. Me and my cousin Anthony Zambrotta in Maspeth.
All great aunts Uncle are dead . My 2 Uncles also passed ,Uncle Dickie and uncle Bob. My uncle always were smiling. Uncle duckies was magic. He cheer up everyone was always joking and smiling. Dickie do,the does and don'ts.. that was his nik name in Brooklyn. Uncle Bob was a tough man .always nervous when young. He gave me that mean look but then would smile. His arms was sledge hammers.
My father Anthony zambrotta is the last of the grand children..
I have a crest on parchment from Italy. When DeLuca and Zambrotta family got married. I would say my tale of the history has to be authentic and direct line.
I believe domenico wife was from Sicily. It was mentioned few times. We have Sicilian in us.

Our family was destroyed by the families that married into our family. Leeches and bigots. There should be few zambrotta from Sammy and wife Teresa zambrotta. My great aunt. I know she had daughters. No males .
My grandmother Angie Zambrotta(batiluca) held the family together. Passed in 1983. Never celebrated another holiday after that. I have all her recipes. Zambrotta meat pie is numero una. I'm only 1 have her recipes. Look for her at local market coming soon. And meatball. She was some cook. And tough. All the Brooklyn monsters were at her funeral and uncle dickies. .
