Hi gpcnz,

FHL fims for Palazzo San Gervassio are limited to 1809-1860>

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... ato+civile++

For records not included on the films, you will need to write to the town hall.

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Via Roma, 34
85026 Palazzo San Gervasio (PZ)
ITALY

Interactive letter:

http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp

Include a self addressed return envelope, a copy of your photo ID, and 1 or more international reply coupons (depending on how many records you are requesting). These can be obtained at your main post office and covers the cost of the return postage.

Hope this helps.

That's fantastic! They are all one in the same. From what I have learned was that he took many solo trips from Italy to America between 1912 and 1930. This last trip, after working 2 years in America, he decided to take his family out of Mussolini's Italy and move them to Newark, New Jersey. On this trip, he took his wife, Magdalena (my Grandmother); his two surviving sons (Joe & Nick) and my Mother (Antoinette) who was 2 years old at the time. They had 4 children born in Italy however 1 sibling did not survive. But, in America, they had 6 more children although 2 twins died at 3 months. Thus leaving a total of 7 children (Joe, Nick, Antoinette, Angie, Danny, Paul, & Lucy). You could say my grandparents were prolific.
Everytime my grandfather came home to his wife and kids, he would ask instead of "What's New?" but "WHO'S NEW?"
LOL

I'm amazed that this old topic is back up top. Glad to see it helped somebody else.
I have learned a lot since this topic last year.

The last name on several of the manifests that we identified as Geurino, was actually Querqui. Michele was a cousin of my Great GF which me and my aunt figured out by looking through all the manifests I could tie to my family.
Amazing the clues you can find by reading everything.

Mike,
My Uncle Mario passed away in NYC (the Bronx) after being in a coma for about a year. He left his wife (Mary), 2 daughters (Carol-Anne, & Joanne) and a son (Mario-Michael). I am not sure of the exact date.

Just wanted to say that there is a great "Family Tree" site called Geni and it is free. It's at http://www.geni.com/
You can add names and invite family members to join. They can actually submit information on existing names that you put in.
The idea of the site is to see how far the tree can go and who is linked to who as far as family is concerned.
Definitely worth a look.
Plus you can e-mail your family anything once you have their e-mail addreses as I just e-mailed mine about this great site. :)
