Member pink67 :D (Laura) has the answer on where 'Elena' was

The correct town is Elena, near Gaeta...

Elena was named Borgo before the year 1897, then was Comune of Elena until 1927 when it was incorporated in the Comune of Gaeta....

So Elena was a Comune from 1897 to 1927....

Today is an hamlet of the comune of Gaeta, named Rione Porto Salvo

See this:

and from Wikipedia:

Contemporary age
After the Risorgimento and until World War II, Gaeta grew in importance and wealth as a seaport. The nearby town of Elena, separated after the Risorgimento and named after the queen of Italy, was reunited to Gaeta following World War I.

Laura,

Hello! This is very helpful... you can imagine what my husband and I were experiencing when I tried to find this town on a current map of Italy! I understand more now...

Hugs,
