Re: Scoppi Family
Thanks, yes we already have the census information, back to the 1881 census, and all of them have 'Italy' as Stepheno Scoppi's origin. We have just returned from two weeks in Umbria where we found a ruined village called Scoppio but it's unlikely that there is a connection! I shall have to make ...

Re: Scoppi Family
Thanks for your suggestions. I have traced the family back as far as is possible in the UK, which is where we live, and the original UK Scoppi who emigrated from Italy first appears on the 1881 census at the age of 30. The problem is that we do not know where he came from in Italy, or how he ...

Scoppi Family
I am trying to find my husband's Italian ancestors, one of whom might have been Felice Scoppi who was born in Rionero in Vulture, Basilicata, probably between 1840 and 1860. Hopelessly vague, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Migration to UK, 1870s
Are there any archives for tracing passengers from Italy to the UK during the 1870s? We know our great grandfather arrived in England, probably London, at about this time but do not know from where he originated in Italy.

Scoppi family
I am searching for the origins of Stefano Scoppi, born approximately 1853, and who emigrated from Italy to the UK, probably in the 1870s. This is my husband's family and we are trying to locate his birthplace/home town in Italy.
