YIKES! I'd be happy to help if you had a transcription of it but it's too hard for me to read it.

Re: Could anyone translate??
Normally I can read Italian but I can't read this! I couldn't even make out the name Sabarese! It's a lovely clear copy but unfortunately the place it's posted only allows one zoom and I need to zoom closer than that. Sorry; I hope someone can help.

Italy, the foundling homes, the wheels, the circumstances of the parents
and those babies [90-95% died ...

Re: Can someone post this for me from Ancestry?
I went to view it for you but I saw that your search was for Pasquale Butchelle; this article was about the death of Joseph Lerza and mentions his brothers Gabriel and Pasquale (Pasquale was the only hit on the page). It seems it's the wrong Pasquale. Do you still want it?

Wow, Tessa! That's fantastic. Was that from a FHC microfilm? It's very good quality.

I would also recommend writing by post; some of the older smaller comuni may not be able to produce a digital image suitable for emailing. The request to phone them may have come from their wish to mail it to you and get your mailing address. Good luck!

Hi there,
I agree - Rosa's last name is Giovinazzo.
Angelina's however, I believe is Casciano.

Re: Looking for my great grandfather--Steve Calderone
Interesting! So on a side-note, you already know Carrie came over as a little tyke and arrived in Louisiana. They were in fact headed for Red River Parish, where you later found her and Steve and the family! I really hope your great-great aunt can help you; you're so lucky to have someone of that ...

Sorry, no idea. I'm new here but I checked and my PMs are showing in the Sent Messages; they did not get stuck in my Outbox. You might want to email the Administrator.

Hi there! thanks for your response. Here is a silly question: are you certain about the Italian connection? I am wondering if he could be a Calderon (Spanish pronunciation). Do you know that someone before him was Italian, is that why you question whether he was born a Steve?
