There is info here about Bessimer Michigan as well... which is not to far from the Canadian border... who knows... maybe the Pietro born in 1903 as mentioned in suanj's post has a father or uncle mentioned below (Francesco or Giovanni!)

Re: finding family anywhere.
Dear Jason you have to begin at the beginning. Call Canada Libraries and archives (toll free) at 1-866-578-7777 and ask for information on how to locate the record of their arrival in canada. i presume you have full names and possibly birthdates or ages etc. Please get back since all border crossing records started in 1892. Peter

Re: finding family anywhere.
Hi, today I was talking to my grandmom and she showed me some paper about my great grandfather when he got to USA, this made me so curious and started typing on Google trying to find more infos.
In his line was written 'Cousin Giovanni Carpenedo, Bessemer Michigan' but my nonna said Giovanni wasn't his cousin but just a friend, probably he lied.
I'm pretty sure he's the John you were talking in this topic!
My great grandfather got there in 1921 with his wife Orsolina De Conti and two daughter born there: Mary Rossetto and Jenny Rossetto.
Another information I have is that he also had a friend called Peter (probably Pietro) Carpenedo who was married to Ann Marie Montessi.
My great grandfather who was originary from Mosnigo, Veneto came back to Italy around 1930s.
I really wish this could help even if the post is pretty old.
