Hi guys!
I am unable to locate my great-grandfather and great-grand mother marriage certificate here in Venezuela. According to the family knowledge they got married around 1885. However, the books for the period 1882-1887 are either lost or have missing pages.
However, my grandfather’s Birth Certificate states that his parents were married. My question is: Is there any other document that can/could help me bypass that one before the Italian authorities and so be able to apply for Italian Citizenship? I thought of the church records but my family says that it is well known that they were never married by the church and that was the cause my great-grandfather was asked to leave town.
Gracias!

Re: unable to locate marriage certificate
Thank you Suan,
That is a good idea. However, the problem is that they never married by the church therefore a marriage act in a venezuelan church will not exist.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your input!
