the large part of Costazza are in Vigo di Fassa town; however I searched in all church records of Trentino Alto Adige region and I no found a Arnold (Arnoldo) Costazza born from 1860 to 1899; maybe the first name was not Arnoldo?

suanj

Dear Suanj!
I`m sure 100% that his name was Arnold. It`s part my genealogy tree:
– Arnold Costazza, * 1875, Bolzano(Italia), died 1940
– Helena Stefanowicz -Costazza, * 1878 , died ?
– Ernestyna Blicharska -Costazza, * 1902, died 1961 Gliwice
? Blicharski, * ,died1935 Lwow
| Adela
– Maria Costazza, * ?, died1946
– Adela Zborowska - Costazza, * 1911, died.1985
? Zborowski, * ?, died ?
– Kazimiera -Costazza, * 1910,died1933

Typical names in this family: Arnold, Otto, Ludomir.
Arnold was a lancer in the Austrian army, and arrived around 1900 in Galicia. I do not know how the mission went there. In Lvov, he met Helen, and 1902 years were married. He was a typical Italian-dark complexion, curly black hair. I`ve heard so much about him from my grandmother.
Best regards
Jozef
Ps. If I can help in the search for genealogy in Poland, to help you.

Suanj, thank you for you message. I`ll have to revise my search. Perhaps Arnold was born somewhere else than Bolzano? I don`t know where to look?
Greetings

Costazza is a rare surname... and original of Trentino region... so your ancestor must be born in Trentino; as already said the surname is original especially of Vigo di Fassa town

maybe he just used Arnold first name in Ukraine... the database of Trentino baptisms is available website:

free registration

maybe if you can find Arnold marriage act in Ukraine you can know more details....
all the best,

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, so far found nothing. I`d have to know the name of the parish. I`ll try to get to the metrics in Rohatyn.

Do you know people who deal with Italian genealogy of this family?
I would like to ask you on behalf of my cousin a few questions.
- Can you find a page on their birth certificates from the province on Trentino- Alte Adigo?
- Did Giuseppe Costazzer could be identified as Josef Costazza?
I`m waiting impatiently for an answer.

Best regards
Jozef

Replies:

No, I know not

It are not birth certificate, only baptism records, no baptism certificates; the baptism certificates must be request in the church where the ancestor was baptized; for exemple:
GIUSEPPE COSTAZZA M 21/8/1872 VIGO DI FASSA - Natività di S. Giovanni Battista (father: Giuseppe: mother: Filomena Iori)
the church is: Natività di S. Giovanni Battista in Vigo di Fassa

If Josef Costazza was born on 21 aug 1872 in Vigo di Fassa, son of Giuseppe and of Filomena nee Iori, well in this case Josef Costazza can be indentified with Giuseppe Costazza above mentioned

all the best,
suanj
