birth record/ birth certificate different?

Hello again

I have been trying to get in contact with the comune of Valmozzola now for a while. I have not had any success. I sent two letters again yesterday, but I fear no one is reading the letters/emails/faxes.

Now I realize I might have been contacting the wrong comune

Here is the birth certificate of my bisnonno -

This is where I am confused. I also have a birth "record" for him as well. Here is the birth record for my bisnonno -

The 1st document says he was born in Corniglio, but it was issued by Valmozzola (I think?) What is the difference in translation between these two documents? Also, which comune should I contact to receive a new official birth certificate?

When Italians are born they do not receive an official birth certificate that they keep for all purposes. When they need a birth certificate for some reason, like school or work or marriage they go to the Comune and ask for one. A certificate is issued containing only the pertinent information needed for the purpose. The certificate is usually valid for only 6 months. The first record you posted is a 'certificate' issued for the purpose of 'work'.
The second you posted is a photocopy of his official birth registration that presumably you got from the LDS microfilms. YOu do not need to write to the Comune, what you have is a copy of what they have.
He was born of unknown parents and his name was given to him by the Mayor.

I am applying for dual citizenship though, which is why I need another copy. Which comune would have the correct documents though, Corniglio or Valmozzola?

What do the numbers mean on the right? Each record in the book register is identified with a progressive number. I see numero 294 I believe... This birth record is #215.
What you see is "Numero 214 anzi 215" means that the 214 is a mistake and the actual record number is 215
