allegati, atti and pubblicazione difference
allegati, atti and pubblicazione difference
What is the difference between these three records for a marriage? Allagati di Matriomonio, Atti di Matrimonio, and Pubblicazione di matrimonio?
Re: allegati, atti and pubblicazione difference
In the "Pubblicazioni", the spouses declare that they want to get married; such declaration must be shown at the Town House and/or in the church, for some time (it varies depending on the historical period) to make sure that nobody has a real reason to prevent the marriage. The "Atto" is the document written at the moment of the marriage. The "allegati" are all the documents produced by the spouses for the marriage (birth certificates, claim of their being unmarried...).
