I'm looking for anyone on information for the Vona family; namely Filippo Vona who was born 1760 to Giuseppe Vona.
I'm trying to link this family to the family of Lucia Bianca Vona who died in April of 1970. Her father was Domenico Erminio Vona and his father was Pellegrino Vona and his father was Francesco Vona. I do not have dates on the last three but I'm sure they are related since it is evidenced on the LDS church records.
If anyone has information I would greatly appreciate it. If you have tips on how I can find names within Quindici or Moschiano I would also greatly appreciate it.
The Vona family
Re: The Vona family
You might want to slow down and look at what you have. It is very difficult to link someone who died in 1970 to someone born in 1760 without alot of serious research and documentation.
You state you don't have dates on the last three, but you are sure they are related since it is evidenced on LDS church records. What LDS records? ARe you looking at microfilmed vital records? Are you looking at IGI records? There is a huge difference between the two sources.
Genealogy is best done in reverse. Start with yourself and gather birth, marriage and death records (as well as other records) as you go back through generations. If you have done this how far back have you gotten? Is Lucia Bianca Vona who died in 1970 as far as you have gotten?

Re: The Vona family
Well in essence I am only beginning my search on ancestors from that side of my family. I have information on Domenico Ermino Vona but not on hand. So technically with complete info I have only reached my grandmother Lucia Bianca Vona.
I don't know where to begin and really I would like some help. I have a strong feeling these people are all related since most families in small villages in Europe were related. My ancestors are said to have immigrated in late 1800's early 1900's.

Re: The Vona family
Se ti va meglio mi puoi scrivere anche in italiano. Lo parlo abbastanza bene. Ci sono andato per compiere una missione per la mia chiesa.
Re: The Vona family

Re: The Vona family
Ciao, quanto tempo è passato!
Ascolta:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... umns=*,0,0
penso che sia la migliore opzione... I comuni non sempre rispondono alla richiesta di certificato storico di famiglia, perchè non conoscono in anticipo il numero delle persone che fanno parte di una branca della famiglia; quindi devono cercare nei registri e ci vuole molto tempo; poi devono calcolare il costo per comunicarlo e avere il pagamento anticipato, ma capisci che per fare questo significa che comunque hanno già dovuto farela ricerca;
You can order microfilm copies of the vital records for the your ancestor's towns from your local family history center of the mormon church. Film is about $3.50 a roll.
The proper way of obtaining microfilm from a Family History Center
1. You go to www.familysearch.org
2. Click on the tab on the top right called Library
3. Click on the words Family History Library Catalog
4. Click on the words Place Search and type in the town you are looking for. Then click the word search.
5. A list of the results will show up. (an example: Quindici, Avellino, IT)
6. Click on the link you are looking for such aQuindici, Avellino, IT Vital Records. A new page will appear where it will show all the films for Vital Records
7. Click on the link you want such as Death Registries.
8. Click on View Film Notes and a list of the microfilm numbers will appear.
9. Click at the bottom of the page, For a printable copy, click hereand you will get a form to print out with all the film numbers.

Ordering Microfilm
1. Now the FHC does not have all the microfilm in their possession.
2. You have to order the microfilm which takes 3-4 weeks for it to arrive.
3. It costs about $5.75 a roll for 30 days of viewing time.
4. If you need to renew the microfilm, it cost about $5.50 for another 60 days.
5. If you need to renew it after the 60 days, it will cost another $5.50 and the films can be kept on an indefinite bases.
6. Microfilm must be viewed at the FHC.
7. Copies are $0.35 a page.
ciao,
