I am going to look at the actual ellis Island web site. Because ancestry only shows page 1 or items 1-12. There is page two, or items 12-24. One of those questions on the entrance is if he has been to the US before?

I took a look at www.ellisisland.org and found that are 10's 10's Benacquista's coming from Fontechiari to NY.

Antonio age 17 1921
Alessio age 17 1913
Antonio ate 16 1921
Benedetto
Carlo 37 1905
Domenico 48 1805
Domenica 38 1822

And many, many more

I would suggest that you do a NEW POST and ask the question to the Forum members. Celestino would have had to have a USA passport to exit USA for Italy.

I looked closely at the dates on Celestino and his wife Violanda.
They got married April 12, 1928 in Casalvieri, Italy
Celestino comes back to the US on 12 May 1928

Violanda comes to the US alone on August 14, 1928

On Celestino's arrival at Ellis Island, it is written he was carring a US issue passport # 300962 issued at Wash. DC 11-11-1926.

He was arriving to 104 Gaclin Street, Scheneclady, NY.

Did Celestino have any other brothers or sisters, Uncles that also came to America? If so, do you know their names.

Sherrie,

I have documentation from the CALSALVERANO ITALIAN CLUB P.O. Box B211 Hawthorne, Calif. 90250 from 1970 that lists Neri, Giovanni (Lavinia) 4214 W. 120th St. Haw. 676-6604 as a charter member. Very cool paperwork on the history of Casalviere in Italian and English translation from my Great Uncle Angelo Carlesimo.
