Attached is the link for the birth record of Francesco Nicola Cavataio born 10 Jan 1674 in Cinisi. It is the second record on the righthand side of the page. Any help in translating the details into English would be appreciated.

Birth Record Translation
Re: Birth Record Translation
Still struggling with the parents' names in this record. Godparents were Francesco Cusimano, son of Francesco (Cusimano) and Caterina Cusimano, daughter of Vincenzo Vitali

Re: Birth Record Translation
I believe the parents are Antonino or Nicola Cavataio and Domenica Matracia.
Re: Birth Record Translation
I do see what looks like Antonino. The next thing looks like Minica (so maybe this is a Latin abbreviation for the Italian name Domenica). Then there is the surname Cavataio, and the abbreviation in Latin for the word "spouses ". There is no maiden name or surname for the mother in the record. BTW, this is a baptism record, which I'm sure you know, and not a birth record.

Re: Birth Record Translation
Thank you for all the help. This will help me to continue my family research.
Re: Birth Record Translation
You're very welcome. I have seen some first names abbreviated by priests in other towns, such as Nardo for Leonardo, or Cola for Nicola, but I have never before seen the abbreviation for Domenica which appears in your record. So I learned something new too. Thanks.
