He was born Francesco Armanni 16 Nov 1908 in Stromboli he was presented by midwife Carolina Barnao it says he was born to a woman who chosen not to be named In the written section he was put in the custody of Genoweffa Rondinella. He could have been recognized later

Hi,
by midwife statement, the mother of Francesco was Genoveffa Rondinella, because she declares that the pregnancy was regular -full nine months ; and that Genoveffa would provide nursing of child. Francesco went in Australia having Francesco Rondinella name, because Genoveffa recognized legally the child, surely, given own surname, also if no note on the Francesco birth act.. and that is a error of clerk...
but Genoveffa recognized, because Francesco had the italian passport with name Francesco Rondinella
http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNR ... ?B=7274953
married at Giuseppa Schibeci born in Lipari
regards,
suanj

and now have this info , wondering how do l trace his father
Francesco Armanni,
birth recorded 18NOV1908, comune of Lipari, section Stromboli. Appeared to report the birth was Carolina Barnao 40, midwife, resident of Stromboli. A male child was born, at 5:20 PM on the 16thNOV and posted in via Stromboli, to a woman who does not want to be named. He was given the name and surname of Francesco Armanni.
Witnesses to this testimony were: Gaetano cincotta 70, sailor and Bartolo Ruggiero 23, sailor.
Genoweffa Rondinella, promised to assume the custody of the child (which was born healthy and full term) The document was read to all present and signed by those who were literate.

Hi Donna,

My grandpa Antonino (nino) Nicosia is the brother of your grandfather.
Nino remembers when he left for Australia Nino brought his luggages to the boat, he was 9 years old.
Antonino Nicosia is still well and alive, (he's 94 and in good health) he said he remebers him clearly!
He and his younger sister Silvana Nicosia are the only ones left of the brothers...
Francesco's mum died the 18 Aprile of 1983, just a few days after his death.
My mum, Claudia Nicosia, daughter of Nino, said they have been called by the wife (or ex wife?) but they couldn't tell to Genoveffa as she was very sick at the hospital...
If we can help in any way let me know (i'm Claudia's daughter)

Hi Silvia
My grandfather come to Australia when he was 29 with wife and 2 children, This was on my grandfathers birth certificate.....
And here is another message I received from someone ......Hi,
by midwife statement, the mother of Francesco was Genoveffa Rondinella, because she declares that the pregnancy was regular -full nine months ; and that Genoveffa would provide nursing of child. Francesco went in Australia having Francesco Rondinella name, because Genoveffa recognized legally the child, surely, given own surname, also if no note on the Francesco birth act... and that is an error of clerk...
but Genoveffa recognized, because Francesco had the Italian passport with name Francesco Rondinella. l hope to hear back from you kind regards Donna Lavin
