Sorrepelling

[cappello]

Hello, i am new to this and only have vague info at the moment.
My Great Grandfather - Luigi Cappello - unfortunately has a British prison record, but this states his place of birth as Sorrepelling.
Would anyone know of a place that sounds like this as i cant find Sorrepelling anywhere.
My Father always maintains he was from the Turin area.
Any info would be appreciated.
