My paternal great grandfather was Henry Faccini. His first child was born around 1870 but I don't have Henry's age.
His wife was Camile Romeo, although some records say Romero. They both came from Italy, so I'm betting on Romeo. I can't find anything about when they moved to the US.
My maternal grandfather was Frank Buzzotto, born about 1860, born in France & both parents born in France, although Italian name. Supposedly moved to US about 1885.
His wife was Nellie or Lena Bona, born about 1862 born in Italy, both her parents born in Italy
They all ended up in San Francisco.
Questions: I can't find anything on any ship registries (checked Castle Garden & Ellis Island & also genealory searches). I'd like to trace further back to Italy & France but don't know where to start.
I saw on a genealogy site that the name Faccini was a dirivitive of Facinelli as is facci, faccin, faccinelli, faccini, faccio, facioli, faciotti, facin & facini. I also was told by my grandmother that the name Faccini means "little face". I also was told while growing up that we were Sicilian & the name Palermo came up.
Any help anyone can offer would be welcomed.
