Grandfather Pasquale Bassano

Post by mkdepas »

My great-grandfather, Pasquale Bassano, was possibly born on October 12,1871 in Montecorvino Rovella, Salerno, Campania, Italy. I'm looking for information on his parents and siblings and when he emigrated to America.

On the line above Alfonso is Pietro D'Aiutolo - possible relative on mother's side?

NOTE: Alfonso appears to have traveled back and forth from Italy to USA. I located at least two other manifests for him in 1905 and 1908. On the 1908 manifest he leaves his wife, Maria Siconolfi, in Giffoni Valle Piana, Salerno. Destination - brother Pasquale in Yonkers.

Here is the link to the

Thank you very much for responding the the additional information about my great-grandfather. Yes, it is Pasquale Bassano. He lived in Yonkers with my great-grandmother, Elvira Cavallo. My grandmother was Clara. How does one go about tracing the family history further back? I'm currently on Ancestry.com and have been tracing my grandfather's family, De Pasquale from Vietri Di Potenza, but am not able to go further back because the family member arrived in that village from Salerno.

Hi,
for Vietri di Potenza is ok, abt Potenza are many civil records on line, so no problem for you, but I understood abt Montecorvino Rovella
because abt the civil records of Municipalities in Salerno province, on line are just a few of records https://familysearch.org/search/image/i ... /waypoints
and no Montecorvino Rovella ....
best regards,
suanj
