Chasing Chersini... Cherso, Istria

..Any one Italian/Slavic background from Cherso (Cres Isl.) before it changed hands in 1947 from Italian rule back to Croatia.

Wondering if any of those born under Italian/Austrian owned periods have any findings that they might share on the family of surname Rodinis Thanks to Tessa (hi!) I was at least able to confirm that Maria Rodinis was from Cherso - born Sep 15 1901 in Cherso and married there on May 12 1920 to my 4th cousin 3xR Carmine Pizzacalla from Castropignano.

But no one from this branch of family seems to know much about the Cherso connection. There first child, Francesca, was born there in 1923 and then they moved on to Castropignano, Campobasso and in 1930 wife and 2 children joined their father in Welland Ontario.
