Lake Palermo?

[isaballe]

My mother told us our great Uncle Carmelo Barbera drown in Lake Palermo. Would have been in the early 1900's. I looked up the lakes in Sicily and there was no Lake Palermo. Is it possible the Lake could have been named something different back then or the name has changed?

Maybe was changed or maybe was called Palermo because was named by locals of the place name. It's like mississippi river the same name like city if you know what I mean?
