Thank you so much. Anyone able to find anything on the Quiroli name? I hear maybe from Verona, maybe from Germany.

It seems that nowadays there aren't any Quiroli in Verona or in the Veneto region. There are some in Lombardia and especially in the area around Cremona.
Filomena/Philomena was born in Politz (present-day Police nad Metují, in the Czech Republic) though. So Quiroli could also be an italianization of a German or Czech surname.

Thanks again, that branch seems to be quite challenging, not sure of the spelling, so leaves a lot to interpretation

Good Morning, xdream4,
it took a time to register and enter this forum, but now I guess, I can help you a little bit concerning s
image.jpeg
ome Facts of Philomena Quiroli. She is one of ten kids of Quirino Quiroli (from Italy) and Barbara Wacek (from Czech). Quirino and Barbara married in Freiberg/Saxonia and were my Greatgreat-Grandparents. So my grandma Ruth Quiroli was the nice of Philomena. I got a picture from 1903 with the Quiroli-Kids Magdalena, Susanne, Franziska, Philomena, Maximilian (row above), Richard (father of my grandma), Rudolf (row below left), Alfons, Alexander and Albert (the three kids in Front) surrounding their parents in the middle. Indeed Philomena was married with Mr. Belfi, went to the US and died in Brooklyn N.Y.

Thank you so much. I must have missed this when you posted it two years ago. I guess we are distant relatives. Did your grandmother go by Quiroli or Caroli or something like that?

Hello xdream4,
I am very happy that you have now found the message. And that on October 3rd, Germany's reunification holiday. Great.

Indeed, we are distant relatives. My son is currently studying the topic of emigration at school so that we could fill it with life.

My grandmother was a born Quiroli. When she married my grandfather, she changed her name.

What all has happened in these two years - unbelievable.

All the best, stay healthy and greetings from Hamburg.
