Hi,
I am new to the forum andI live Italy.
Helping someone in Australia. I can usually find my way round the system here, but have come unstuck.

Looking for the BC of BONACCIO, Nicolo born in Trieste 26/12/1833. The Archivio di Stato Trieste do not have any records. Problem also being that Trieste was part of Austria under the Habsburg Monarchy from 1332-1918, when it was then annexed to Italy. So not sure if the records are held in Austria or not.

Any help gratefully received in english or italian.

It might be possible to find those records in the diocesan archive of Trieste. The first books they have should start in the 1830s I don't remember exactly when.
Otherwise it is necessary to go the right parish archive. In 1833 there were only two parishes in the city:
- Santa Maria Maggiore
- Sant'Antonio Taumaturgo

Thanks for the info. Should have thought of the diocesan Archives. Used them before in various parts of Italy.
The interesting piece you gave me also was about the "two" parish records. That makes it easier only being two.
