Image quality is inadequate and much too blurred.

Sept 21, 1842 at 9 P.M. (Solemn promise on left)

Groom: Giuseppantonio Laurino, age 24, weaver, born and living in Frigento on Strada San Marciano. Son of Domenico (Laurino), also a weaver, living with him on the same street. Mother: Maria Mandina (sp?) di Feo.

Bride: Rosa Teta (sp?), age 24, living on Strada San Marciano, daughter of Angelo (Teta?) and deceased Giovanna Genua.

The marriage took place in the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore dell'Assunta in Cielo on the 22nd.

The surname was clearly written as Teta in Giovanna's death record.

One of the church witnesses was Don Filippo Testa (clearly spelled that way). You can also compare the S in Rosa's first name to the third letter in her surname. They are not written the same way and are not the same letter. The third letter in the surname is definitely a T. It just looks like there is another letter following it-like the letter i or another t possibly. The surname Teta does currently exist in Avellino Province, although not in the town of Frigento-at least not in the current Italian white pages.

I would say that the spelling here is Rosa Testa.

There's another record for Maria Teresa's marriage that Livio previously translated that he said the surname was Tata, but it's clearly Teta in that record.

Dolores
Are there any indices/indexes for these earlier records in which you might find the surname as Teta? Sometimes the index can clarify things.
