So, Giuseppina had a sister who was married to Saverio Ponzo before her and her mother's 1909 arrival.

Innocenzo Ianuzzi and Domenica Rosignuolo had 2 daughters: Giuseppina Ianuzzi and Maria Christina Ianuzzi. The ship manifest for Domenica shows she was a widow when she came to American. Do you know why she would keep her last name, Rosignuolo, instead of taking on Ianuzzi? I believe they married even though couldn't locate marriage because the manifest said widowed.

Also, I have been searching very hard for Innocenzo's death cert in Italy and I'm coming up empty. Any thoughts??

In the act of birth of Giuseppina Iannuzzi, the father Innocenzo declares that the baby girl was born to "Rosignuolo Domenica, sua moglie, contadina, seco lui convivente".

Thanks, but we have that information. We are trying to figure out why Domenica did not have the Iannuzzi last name on ship manifest of 1909 or on her gravestone in America? And can't find Innocenzo Iannuzzi's death cert anywhere! BIG BRICK WALL!

I've checked the San Donato death acts also from 1892 to 1909 and did not find his death act in any of the indexes. There were one or two years that did not have yearly indexes so I did a page by page for those. I'd suggest you do a page by page look for all the years between 1892 and 1909 since I've seen instances where a death act occurred but was somehow omitted from the index. It's a pain, but since the town has relatively few death acts per year, it's doable. And, of course, it's possible he died somewhere else besides San Donato.

No luck with the manual search, must be a different town like you said...

Can you tell me what happened with this one? My grandfathers sister Angela Barbetta was born in 1890 in Torrevecchia Teatina. She is in the index for that year(#69), but there is no birth record when go look. Is there something I am missing? Thanks

The index with the 1890 records is for 1891. Here's Angela Domenica's record from 1891, #69 bottom right.
