BROUGHT TO THE US BY A FOSTER FAMILY

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

BROUGHT TO THE US BY A FOSTER FAMILY

Post by Riss »

My grandfather was brought to the United States by a foster family at the age of 12 at 1895. His own father stayed in Italy for his entire life while my grandfather stayed in America for his entire life with periodic trips back to visit his family. I'm trying figure if my grandfather naturalized at the age of 1/ and if so if his birth father stayed in Italy would that have made him an Italian citizen still?

If your grandfather naturalized, he lost the his italian citizenship when he naturalized.
