Siblings? translation help

Post by Jen5525 »

Hi all...doing some research for a friend. Came across these 2 records from Mammola (Reggio Calabria region and wanting to confirm that they are siblings. they appear to have the same father (although the age is inconsistent across the 2 records). Mother is clearly different in the records, but having trouble with the handwriting.

1. can you confirm or weigh in on whether this is the same father
2. can you assist with translation/handwriting of the parents' names on the 2 records.

birth 1885: Maria Cometta Camarda

birth 1887: Rosa Maria Camarda

thanks in advance!

so adding to the mystery or perhaps solving it, I find 2 marriages in 1884.

1. Fillipo Antonio Camarda to Elisabetta ?? (no. 6)

2. Giuseppe Camarda to Rosalia Zavaglia (no. 11)

could they have gotten the father's name wrong in the record above in 1885?

thanks all for the translation help. I'm still confused as to who is who in these records.

I have a child born to Giuseppe Camarda and Elisabetta ientile, but a marriage for Elisabetta Ientile to Fillipo Antonio Camarda? a second birth to Giuseppe with a different woman Rosalia Zavaglia which also corresponds to a marriage record for them.

What are the chances that the one birth record is incorrect and that they recorded the father's name wrong? Or...could there have been an affair? would that be officially acknowledged in this way?
