Help Reading a death record?

Post by WeGotASayinInBklyn »

Hello,

This is my first time reading a death record in Italian. The script is so hard to read! Could anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated! :D

The image does not allow enlargement, and is very hard to read ...
However, this is what I can see -

#362 - dated 22 May 1920 in Caltanissetta
Appeared Biagio Torregrossa, 35, custodian, residing in this town; and Salvatore Falzone, 58, mason, of this town; to declare that at 3 AM today in the house in Via Tabarano #1, died Michele Lombardo, age 43 years, a clerk residing in this town; born in this town to deceased Vincenzo [Lombardo], mason, and to deceased Filomena Giannone, housewife; both residing in this town in their lifetimes. He was the husband of Gaetana Nigrelli.
Witnesses to the declaration and recording of the death were Michele Grasta, 40, tinsmith; and Salvatore Grasta, 22, tinsmith, both residing in this town.

If you save the image on your desktop and hit the shift key and the plus sign, you should be able to enlarge the record. There's a note in the margin correcting the father's name from Vincenzo to Luciano. This was done by the court in 1924, the day was the 26th, but I'm not sure of the month, as it was written over-possibly it's an 8 for August.

Wow, thank you! One more question, does it say that Luciano is deceased at this point? From family lore, Luciano had to bury his son.

Thanks!

Erudita - thank you for the tip :-)

Yes, the father (corrected to Luciano) was deceased at the time of the record, and so was the mother.
