mispelled name, but same parents, maybe a brother?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

mispelled name, but same parents, maybe a brother?

Post by yonomas84 »

Hello guys

This journey started a long time ago, I got almost nothing, but on the previous days @Tessa78 from Italian Genealogy Forum help us a lot, and now we might have a case.

Our great grandpa Felipe Dipeo (Filippo Di Peo?). moved to Argentina and according to the papers he was born on 1872 in Castelfidardo, Ancona.

His father's name was Tomas Di Peo and his mother was Angela Frana.

We reached the comune of Castelfidardo, but we found nothing

However, @Tessa78 found out that there was a Felice Di Peio, son of Tommaso Di Peio and Angela Frani.

So
Felipe Dipeo (1867) could be Felice Di Peio (1872)
Tomas Dipeo could be Tommaso Di Peio
Angela Frana could be Angela Frani

So far we have 2 names... same parents, but no info about the arrival of our ancestor to Argentina.

The only thing we got is that he got married to an Argentinian woman.

We got the marriage certificate from Argentina, and it says "Felipe Dipeo", not sure if the names are the italian version, most of the info I got came from Argentina and sometimes they "translate" the names, Felipe - Filippo.

And he got a son

We are trying to find out when Felipe Dipeo arrived to Argentina and where did he come from.

we tried these links, but no luck so far

If anyone could point me in a good direction or assist it would be great.

Also this is the link with the info we found

Mmm, so is a brother, the one that we are looking for moved to argentina and was born in 1972. Same parents, very similar name “Felipe Di Peio”

Is there way to find out If this Felice had a brother called Felipe or Felippo ?
