Birth Record for Cristina DeLuca

Post by chlobutton »

Buona Giornata,

My Great Grandmother Cristina DeLuca was a foundling born in 1886 in Pozzuoli. I am trying to figure out if her birth record indicates where she went after she was born? If anyone could help me read the portion at the bottom of the birth record?

There are actually 3 birth certificates.

On the left is the birth certificate for a male named Domenico. On the bottom is the birth certificate of a female Maria Angela which continues on the right.

Following that, there is a birth certificate for Cristina De Luca. The birth was registered by the midwife Angela Cerino. The baby is sent to the Stabilimento Dell'Annunziata in Napoli (Naples) accompanied by Maria Francesca Del Giudice along with a copy of the birth certificate to be given to the director of the Stabilimento Dell'Annunziata. There is no address for the Stabilimento.

I think this was an orphanage.

I hope the info helps you with your search.

Cristina was born to a "widow who did not consent to be named".

Thanks everyone. This information is so sad but having the name of an orphanage that might have records could be very helpful.

Thank you for the assistance.
