Re: Cross-Check My Translations of 2 Birth Acts?
Would you mind checking the below 2 as well? I'm confused on one part, for the child born in 1909 the father signs the act and for the child born in 1904 he doesn't and is referred to as illiterate. Do we assume he became literate between 1904 and 1909?
Domenicantonio Pezzente Birth Act Act #107. Dated September 18, 1904. Appeared Angelomaria Pezzente, 23 years old, farmer, domiciled in Sepino, who declared that on the 15th of the current month in his house in Via Brecciosa, to Margherita Ferrante, his wife, living with him, was born a male child to which is given the name Domenicantonio.
To the above and to this act were present as witnesses: Gennaro Mucci, 61 years old, and Francesca Parente, 66 years old, both residents in the comune. The present act was read to all and signed by one witness and the official, as the rest were illiterate.
Michele Pezzente Birth Act Act #62. Dated April 25, 1909. Appeared Angelomaria Pezzente, 28 years old, farmer, domiciled in Mendicino, who declared that on the 23rd of the current month in his house in Contrada Brecciosa, to Margherita Ferrante of deceased Michelangelo, his wife, living with him, was born a male child to which is given the name Michele.
To the above and to this act were present as witnesses: Giuseppe Maglieri, 26 years old, farmer, and Riccardo Trivizia, 26 years old, clerk, both residents in this comune. The present act was read and signed by all, except one witness who was illiterate.
