Hit a road block on these. I'm looking for the names of the parents of Antonio Agostino and Vita Marra. Can anyone help Should? Should be from Cosenza, Calabria. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have much on them. Their daughter Vitella Agostino married Luigi Pranno in Chicago, I Believe around 1903. I have another thread pertaining to Luigi Pranno and Vitella. However, I have no info on Antonio Agostino or Vita Marra.

According to the 1900 US Census, Antonio Agostino and his wife Vita were born in 1854. They both immigrated in 1882 and their first child, Ceasar, was born in 1883.

We may be able to find an arrival from 1882, but it will probably hold little information.

To find the information that you are seeking, you will need to know the EXACT town (comune) of birth for Antonio and Vita.

In the US Census above, Antonio states that he is naturalized. Naturalization records should have his place of birth, and his wife's.

This seems like the family:
Antonia Augustine, born 21 June 1862 in Ricigliano, died 4 July 1947 in Melrose Place, Illinois. Parents Joseph (Giuseppe) and Vita Antonia Marr [sic]. Husband of Anthony, died in 1939, son of Charles.

They can be found on the 1900 census (all sic):
Antonio Augustino, 46
Vitantonia Augustino, 36
Cesero Augustino, 17
Girardo Augustino, 10
Vitella Augustino, 13
Lucia Augustino, 9
Peppina Augustino, 6

The name Marra can indeed be found in Ricigliano, one girl named Vita is born in 1864 to parents Giuseppe Marra and Costanza Orga (not implying this is yours).

The birth records for 1862 cannot be found on the antenati site and it doesn't look like they are on familysearch either.
