Serafino Nocella

Post by lilcrosby »

Hi I am trying to find any information on grandfather Serafino Nocella dob 1879. Parents have passed away so nobody to ask in the family.
All I know is he lived in Latronico. His wife was Elisabetta. He had two sons Salvadore 1914 and Angelo 1916. He emigrated to New York On his own in 1907 came back to Italy to have his family then returned to New York 1920. It was rumoured he had a separate family in New York. Any information re birth, marriage etc greatly appreciated. As I don’t know where to start looking.

Serafino was born in Latronico, Potenza on 28 July 1879, to Angelo Nocella, 26, laborer, Son of deceased Serafino; and to Caterina Gesualdi, his wife, 26, spinner, daughter of Francesco.

Here is the birth act (#97)
