Translation help

Post by jml1991 »

Any help with translating this 1667 marriage announcement (is it a bann or an actual marriage record?) from Sicily would be much appreciated. I've copied the whole page, but it is the item #231 on the right column, beginning with the name Antonino, that I need help with. The link to the page is below. Thanks very much for any assistance!

It's not a bann.
I must say it's a weird record...it just mentions the names of the spouses

Antonino Barbiri (?) and Caterina Bonanno.
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

Thank you Pippo! Yes, it is a strange record! Also strange is that the name is written as Barliri, which I discovered after comparing and matching many, many records was an alternate version of Barrile. In some cases, they even spelled it Barliri in an index, then Barrile on the actual record, or vice versa.
Always grateful for your help!
