Is "La Camara" a Spanish surname?

24 February 1544, Nicolao (de???) la Camara is born in Monreale, Sicily to Maestro Antonino and Ligutina??? (I don't recognize this name) la Camara.

6 April 1581 - Nicolao marries Antonina (di) Bellia/Bella/Bedda/Beddia in Carini, Sicily.

11 November 1612, Nicolao dies, age 68

A couple things I noticed

1. (de) La Camara is a Spanish surname, not an Italian one. Some conquistadors have this name - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_de_la_C%C3%A1mara

2. His death certificate gets his age correct exactly, instead of using an estimation. For many people, these estimations have been a decade or more off.

3. Ligutina is a name I've never seen before and can't find online

4. Nicolao's father was Mro = Maestro, i.e. a nobleman

Is Nicolao descended from Spanish nobility who moved to Sicily?

"Maestro" most often refers to a "master" or "teacher" of music or the arts. Not necessarily nobility, per se.

"La Camara" is not found, but "Camara" is peppered in some of the northern Italian provinces...

I wish I could help on the other questions, but certainly it would not be a stretch for a Spaniard to settle in NW Sicily...

BTW, my late aunt's maternal family was from Carini.
