More information about my Grandfather Michele Nigro

[nderose54]

I see from some records that he left Naples 1912.
I have been told he was born December 11, 1873 (?) but on his naturalization paper is says July 1, 1887.
Place of Birth- Orzaro, Italy.
Can you tell me who his wife was, and her date of birth and date they were married, and where they were married?
DId she accompany him on the SS Mendoza, from Naples to NY?

thank you

There is no city or town in Italy named "Orzaro".

[luigirusso007]

It is probably Arzano, a town near Naples.

The surname of "Nigro" is predominate in the southern regions of Italy; Campania, Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria as well as the southern portion of Sicily (however it is widely distributed elsewhere in lesser amounts)...
