New to this site and wanted to find some information about my father's family. My dad - Jorge Humberto Bocallini was born in San Carlos, Uruguay and now lives in Australia. His dad, Eugenio Humberto Bocallini came from Italy to Uruguay with his family. We've been told by people from Italian descendants that Bocallini is from the North of Italy.
We would love some information to track down our family tree, so if someone could please give us some links or information we would be so appreciative of your help. Also I am still ascertaining more info from my dad as he remembers names and places.
Thankyou
Bocallini italian ancestry
Re: Bocallini italian ancestry
As you can see at the following link, there are no persons carrying that spelling of the surname in Italy.......perhaps the name has another form....

Re: Bocallini italian ancestry
Hi again,
I'm not sure about Uruguary, but here in the states, good places to look for the Italian town of origin would be ship manifest, naturalizaton record, death certificate for your grandfather, church records. Maybe the same applies for Uruguary?
Suggest talking to your local LDS (Mormans)-Family History Center. Since he Mormans are "into" genealogy, I'm sure they can provide you with guidance.
Here is a link to locate your nearest FHC.
