I have a cousin with one side of her family coming from Sinj, Dalmatia, Austria / Croatia.
We would like to document his birth record and find out who his parents are.
We have some documents, Ellis Island 1906, Naturalization 1912 and his marriage record 1912.
Simon emigrated at the age of 17. The family did not pass down information from the old country.
We don't know what type of records they have.
Here is what we know.
Simon Zulevich
born 14 Feb 1888 Sinj, Dalmatia, Austria
Married 11 Nov 1912
Died 3 July 1968 Hot Springs, Wyoming, USA.
Married to
Julia Helen Murray
Born 11 nov 1912 Denver, Colorado, USA
Died 22 Feb 1967 Thermopolis, Hot Springs, Wyoming, USA
Children
Irene Zulevic
Born 13 Oct 1928 Thermopolis, Hot Spring, Wyoming, USA
Died 26 Oct 2004 Lovell, Big Horn, Wyoming, United States.
Any one with knowledge on how to find records in Sinj would be greatly be appreciated.

Re: Simon Zulevich of Sinj, Austria
I asked my cousin about Simon having a Second or middle name of Frank. She said it was in the Obit and on the head stone.
Maybe its part of the birth name, or was added later.
I did notice that the Obit stated Simon was born in Vienna, Austria.
I don't really know what is correct at this point.

well Zulevich or Zuljevich are the spelling used in USA. Right croatian spelling is: Žuljević

Re: Simon Zulevich of Sinj, Austria
From what I understood, because the croatian is very hard, well...I don't found any Žuljević in Sinj baptisms, but I read that the large part of Žuljevićs in USA coming from Caporice, Općina Trilj,(Municipality of Trilj) Dalmatia and from Gardun,Općina Sinj (Municipality of Sinj), Dalmatia. The Dalmatia is in Croatia obviously.
So the only explanation why Simon is no in the baptism index of Sinj, or he was born in some village of Sinj hinterland..
