What town does this say?
Below are two death records in the comune of Nocciano (PE), #12 (Mario di Cesare) and #18 (Giovanni di Cesare), and I can't for the life of me figure out what town the records say they were born in. It looks like it says "nato in Baring". It could also say "Barires" or "Bariry". What's weird is that the third letter looks like an "r" but the fifth letter could also be an "r". If you look at the way the person wrote "ieri", it's clear they have two different ways of writing the letter "r".
For context, the parents were married in an adjacent town of Civitaquana in 1885 and had 6 children from 1887-1901 in Nocciano. They apparently went to "Baring," and now it's 1909 and they've returned to Nocciano and 2 children have died that were born in some town that doesn't even look like it was in Italy. Any thoughts?

I read "Bariry", and the one place I could find that goes by such name is in Brazil (Bariry or Bariri).
Do you know if the parents had emigrated?

Re: What town does this say?
The only info I can find is that Gioacchino and his daughter Lucia immigrated to Boston, Mass. in 1912, and Lucia got married and settled with her husband in Malden, Mass. As a Massachusetts native, I can't think of any towns near Boston that resemble "Bariry". There's another death record in this register where the person was born in "New Yorck", so clearly they aren't always correct spelling American places.

I did not find any births in Massachusetts between 1901 and 1909 to Gioacchino and Maria. I took a break from my Ancestry subscription so I wasn't able to look up any other immigration or citizenship papers there. Is it possible to find papers showing a couple leaving Boston to go back to Italy?

There's a Barre, MA in the central part of the state. Towns named Barre also exist in NY and VT.
Could it be written as Bari ny?

Having said that doesn't the timing suggest they were born in Italy?

Re: What town does this say?
Incredible, thank you so much! The children I have for Gioacchino and Maria are listed there, plus several of the other families on that page are from Nocciano. How did you find these records? I'm not familiar with Brazil immigration records.
I guess my next step is to look through the Brazilian baptism records for Bariri.
