military records in Antenati

Post by carolc »

I am looking through the state archives of Avellino and the initial page says they have various military records but when you look through the scanned documents there are only marriage, death, and birth. Where are the military records?

They are not online, but are available at the Archivio di Stato di Avellino.
This is a link for info:

In general military records are not online, should be asked a search to the Archive of State.
But for Avellino they have made a list of the soldiers, that is online. So you may search for the name, then if present you ask the document with the military life of that person.
The website is regularly working, but if you still can't access, it should be for another reason.
Someone said that the access to certain Italian websites has been blocked for security reasons from abroad (or from certain Countries?) (due to the war in Ukraine).
So if you can't access, tell me the names you search and I'll look.
