Hey Friends,
I'd like to start looking into getting my dual citizenship w/ Italy. Has anyone gone through the process? Any suggestions?

Start your family tree. Join a group for citizenship. Check the Consulate website for instructions.

Thank you for the advice, I have my family tree all set and going back generations.
Do you have a suggestion for a citizenship group?

#1 - I suggest ordering your naturalization documents asap after you've determined you qualify for citizenship. They will take a year to get. No joke.
As a general rule, the Consulate that handles your state is the rule of law. Each Consulate does things a little differently. The Information from your Consulate is your gold standard. This has bitten me a few times (wasted money on court orders and time) by well intention individuals because my Consulate has different requirements or policies.

If you are certain you qualify, make an appointment with your consulate. Appointments are difficult to obtain, so you will have plenty of time to obtain your documents.
