Chicago consulate/ missing GGP marriage certificate

Post by scuba2k@aol.com »

I can not find Great grandparents marriage certificate. Supposedly they were married in Italy. They came to the US 6 months apart, and on both manifest states they are married, US census says they are married, both names are on children’s birth certificates, Baptismal certificate, etc….but no marriage certificate found, Comun in Italy can’t find it, searched area towns in US…contacted parish in Comune (where they were from) no answer. Anyone else have this issue of no marriage certificate found? What did you do, how did consulate handle it? Any information would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
