interpretation of surname

buonasera a tutti, I am indexing a few documents and came across this one:

I am interested in the surname of the husband of the deceased.
His name is Giuseppe but can't work out what the surname should be... I'd naturally say "Casella" but that first L is not an L at all, it's too short.

All other combinations of letters sound weird to me... any suggestions are welcome!

... on second thought, it could be CASULA, this seems to be a rare surname, but there are people in the Taranto area with that surname even today:

I read CASULA, a surname found in San Giorgio Ionico.
