Passenger List for Rodolfo Urso November 1957

Post by AURSO21 »

Hello Community :) First time member and poster here!

Yesterday I visited Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia in an attempt to find information about my father and his family's immigration to Canada. This is the information I know but the researcher at Pier 21 could not access any information related to this ship:

Passenger Names: Rodolfo (DOB Feb 3, 1941), Elga, Egidio, Leopoldo Urso - mother Lauretta/Loretta (Sicilia) Urso
Departing Port - Naples
Departing Date - November 4, 1957
Arrival in New York - November 16, 1957
Ship - Guilio Cesare
From - C Carolei, Calabria

The family arrived in New York and then were quarantined for at least 1 day - they boarded a train to Buffalo, NY, then another train bound to Toronto, Canada and finally, Sudbury, Canada.

I'm not sure what other information I might be able to provide to help. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Alternatively, if anyone can name any of the people in the attached photo that would be great also!

Welcome to the forum!

Did Rodolfo travel alone? If not, can you name the other members of the family with which he traveled? You mention his mother as being Loretta/Laureta. Did she travel to Canada as well?

I notice that NY passenger records online don't go up to November 1957.

Based on this site: https://www.archives.gov/research/immig ... rival.html, you likely will need to complete a Freedom of Information requests https://www.archives.gov/foia

Sorry :(
