Hey guys,

I am hoping someone would have access to records in Lavello Potenza Italy.

I am looking for the birth records for Saverio (Sam or Samuel) Caputo or any of his siblings in Lavello, in particular, any link to Vincenzo.

Saverio Caputo was born on October 31, 1886

Immigrated to the US in July 1906 abord the Montserrat

Have all records - Lived in Utica and Married Angelina in 1912. Attended Mt. Carmel Church. Lived on Jay Street and both Angelina's parents are buried in Utica.

Have all records - Moved to Connecticut in 1920
Have all records - Declaration of Intention filed in Utica cert number 6014
Have all Records - Petition for Naturalization filed in Connecticut cert number 11511 77347
Have all Records - Naturalized and signed Oath in May 1926 Connecticut cert number 2256264
Have all records - Died in 1960 in Connecticut

I dont have is birth records, but more important I am trying to figure out what his relationship is to my grandfather. They lived next door to each other in Utica 731 Jay Street and 731 Jay Street (Same Building).

If anyone has access to records in Lavello that could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Can you post his ship manifest?

He is listed as Caputi but I have the naturalization records and he naturalizes as Samuel (Saverio) Caputo. He declared in Utica and finalized in Connecticut. Maybe it is under Caputi

I've found the manifest. It says Lavello as last place of residence, but he might have been born elsewhere.

Interesting. It states it on his naturalization records too though, which is interesting. I see your point if only on the manifest but to be also included on the declaration and naturalization is usually more solid.

Do all the records exist in these books or have you seen missing files. The crazy thing is I was attempting to locate two records in this same book.

Saverio Caputo was born on Oct 31, 1886 and it appears missing. Also Ernesto Salvatore should be listed too. He was born the same year in the same place on November 9th, but I dont see that record either. See attached both records
