Visiting Italy in June

Post by penama19 »

Hello,

My family and I are are planning a trip to Italy this summer and hoped to visit the town where my grandmother was born. Her name was Domenica Campellone (Born Sept 29, 1909) and her mother Lucia Amodie (Born 1890) and father Sylvio Campellone. She was born in Colli a Volturno, Italy. She left for America in Sept 1912 and arrived in Ellis Island. We plan on visiting Colli a Volturno and was hoping to maybe connect with some family that might still be there. Any advise on how we might try to find and connect with the Campellone family who might still be in Colli a Voltunro? Thank you so much!

Welcome to the forum!

There are currently 6 listings for the surname CAMPELLONE in the Italian phone book in Colli a Volturno (landlines only).

You may wish to write to one or more of these "potential" relatives and make your inquiry.

You might try reaching out to the Pro Loco organization in the town as well. Possibly some descendants are members of this group or personally know individuals in the town with the surname. This organization also has a presence on Facebook, if you have a Facebook account. In any case, since you are planning to visit the town, you may still want to reach out to this volunteer organization, as one of the things it deals with is tourism.
