Help locating GGGMothers Birth Record -Formia

Post by bkplatz »

I am looking for help finding a digital record of my Great-great-grandmothers Italian birth certificate. I don’t have her exact birth.

Josephine Marciano (may have been Guiseppina)
Birth: 1884 Formia Latina Lazio, Italy
Death: Oct 25, 1918 Manhattan, NY

I am hoping this is enough information. When I look up the digital records I only see it’s done back to 1932 or somewhere around there.

Thank yo for any help possible! Grazie

Yes, there is a big gap in the digital records online. The records from 1865 through 1928 are not available.

Your should write directly to the comune of Formia to request the birth act.
Give the information you posted above (her given name was probably Giuseppa or Maria Giuseppa). Be sure to send YOUR photo ID and an email address where you can be reached.

Write your letter in Italian and address it to:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Comune di Formia
via Vitruvio, 190
04023 Formia (LT)
ITALY
