Looking for translation please of Marullo birth

Post by lyn1982 »

Looking for a translation of this Marullo birth here:

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... ud19789883

Since it says fathers name is Noah, I'm looking for mothers name and surname since that wasn't indexed, as well as hers and Noah's ages so I can maybe find a marriage record. And I don't think birth records mention where parents were born, but if it does that info would be appreciated too.

Marullo Noè, of the deceased Saverio, a painter born and domiciled in Mistretta, recognizes as his natural son the child born in Rome on December 12, 1883, whose birth was registered at no. 2131 series B Volume 5 Part one with the name of Tibacio Fausto, son of unknown parents.

Thank you. That's very interesting. My ggf was a foundling too born in Rome and I have tons of DNA matches to marullos from Sicily, in my case Agrigento. I'm thinking this might relate to my ggf given it's a Marullo in Rome with ancestry from Sicily.

Does the record mean Noe was born in Mistretta, or his father?

Thanks. I'll go and find the record in a while. Hopefully those are online.

It was Marullo Noe who was born in Mistretta. Place of birth for his father is not recorded.

Thank you. I'm guessing it doesn't mention the parents places of birth? I'll have to find their marriage record for that then. Probably a long shot that Saverio was born in Porto Empedocile, Agrigento.

Really cool though to see a fondling be claimed on a record.

I don't see Tibacio Fausto in the 1899 index.https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 57/58vgz7m I guess fondlings weren't put with their birth surname in the index? That really sucks because I was going to try and find if my great grandfather was ever claimed by his mother or father and he kept his fondling name.

Wonder how crazy it would be to shift through all the Rome records looking for surnames that pop up in my dna matches and checking each one. Guessing that would be a waste though, because it looks like on the original record for Tibacio's birth there was a note written in about the declaration and my ggf's doesn't have that.

I see that. What I meant was I don't see it under the other name. So if he kept his fondling name nobody would be ever able to find out he was declared unless they came upon the record by accident.

Fausto TIBACIO's birth certificate is registered in the year in which he was born, i.e. 1883.
