Giuseppe Cerami, a well known family member whom I knew, per his Ellis Island records, appears on Line 7 of the ship manifest. The second page of the Ellis Island record has Line 7 crossed out, but not the first page. Why would that be? See attachments.

Ellis Island Crossed Out Line
Re: Ellis Island Crossed Out Line
I suspect it was a clerical error since the information on page 2 is complete, unlike the passengers above and below him.
He has a numerical annotation indicating that he was naturalized. You could check that to see that this was indeed the ship/date of arrival.

Re: Ellis Island Crossed Out Line
It checks out. Never knew they went back and did that when a person got naturalized. Yet the number on his New York Naturalization record is 373059 which is much different than the number added to the Ellis Island record which is very long - 2-401140 etc. (hard to read).

Re: Ellis Island Crossed Out Line
The beginning numbers usually refer to application #...followed by a date...then a code.
In this case the 2-401140 is the number of the Certificate of arrival document issued after he applied to verify he immigrated legally. Here is the image.
