Birth Certificates of Twins

Hi,
My daughter is currently pregnant with twins.
My wife told me that her grandfather is a twin:

Grandfather: James Vito Caliguri
Birth Date: 3 November 1893
Place of Birth: Stronglio, Catanzaro, Italy

Through the help of one of the forum members, suanj, She was able to confirm information on the NYS 1905 Census that a Vite Cahguiri, a male of 12 years old, born in Italy, did in fact have a brother Michael also 12 years old, born in Italy.

Vito & Michael's Father was: Giancin* Caligini, born in Italy
Vito & Michael's Mother was: Lena Cascio, born in USA

Is there any way I can prove that they were in fact twins?

I appreciate any help you might give me.

You might write to the Comune di Strongoli requesting a birth certificate for
Michele Caligiuri, born Nov 3, 1893

or request military records from Archivio di Stato di Catanzaro.

I advise looking for baptismal or christening records in church records if your family belonged to a specific denomination. Details regarding the twins' births may be included in these documents.

DNA testing can be done to check parentage. Documents can be difficult to find.
