Hi All,
Thank you for all the great help in finding my ancestors!
I am now trying to find the birthplace of Cesare Ferrari, who lived in the Bronx, married to Amelia Pucci. He was born perhaps 17APR1883 in Italy and died 19OCT1928 in NY. From his marriage certificate from 20JUL1912 in the Bronx, his father was Guiseppe, his mother Natale Villari. On census records, it states he arrived in New York in 1907. But I can't find a ship's arrival manifest that seems to match. I think that would be the easiest way to find his hometown...May I kindly ask for some help?
Grazie mille!

Hi-
As to Ellis Island records, maybe use this:
https://aad.archives.gov/aad/fielded-se ... 3&sc=30849
https://aad.archives.gov/aad/display-pa ... &cl_30849=
There is then a way to look at each manifest (for the name Cesare Ferrari):
The first one is (Manifest ID No. 82142) ship name: Fulda (arrived 6-27-1892)
The second one is (Manifest ID No. 83656) ship name: La Bretagne (arrived 5-26-1901)
The third one is (Manifest ID No. 84109) ship name: La Bretagne (arrived 4-6-1903)
The fourth one is (Manifest ID No. 80426) ship name: La Normandie (arrived 10-1-1883)
The fifth one is (Manifest ID No. 83728) ship name: Sicilia (arrived 10-16-1901)
The sixth one is (Manifest ID No. 808047) ship name: Rochambeau (arrived 3-27-1912)
The seventh one is (Manifest ID No. 880310) ship name: Koenigan Louise (arrived 5-25-1904)
The eighth one is (Manifest ID No. 880267) ship name: La Bretagne (arrived 3-14-1904)

Here is a link to the marriage certificate image that may be helpful

If you are examining ship manifests I recommend that you view them using FamilySearch. The invariably superior imagery is worth the extra clicks.

Unfortunately, online Birth records at Family Search for Castanea delle Furie and Nicastro are not in the range where you seek...

Thank you much! At least I now know the birthplace. I'll be in Sicily later this year and might check the church and / or the Comune in Messina to look further. Thanks again!!
